Having been raised in Vernon Parish, Dr. Christina Lord was very happy to return home to Leesville in 2004 to open her solo OB/GYN medical practice. She currently owns Oak Pointe Wellness Center in downtown Leesville. She is the Louisiana Section Treasurer for the American College of OB/GYNs and serves on the Legislative Committee for the Louisiana State Medical Society.

Cindy Jeane

Cindy is the owner and managing partner of Pheonix Home Medical in Leesville. She graduated from Leesville High School and earned her business degree from Centenary College. She is an active member of the Leesville Lions Club, LHS Alumni Board, Friends of Leesville Main Street Program, and is serving a second term on the Board of Directors for the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce. “To whom much is given, much is expected” is her favorite dictem.

Although a native of Baton Rouge, she calls Leesville home as she now has been a resident of Vernon Parish for the last 38 years. Tammy graduated from LSU in Journalism, with a minor in English and Child Psychology. In 2006, after a 25 year career, she retired from teaching Language Arts. For her work on the designation of the City of Leesville becoming a Main Street Program in 2016, she was honored as the 2018 “Grassroots Citizen of the Year” by the Kisatchie-Delta Regional Planning & Development District. She continues her work in preservation and downtown development as the currrent Director for The Friends of Leesville Main Street Program. This year, our Chamber Team had the pleasure of celebrating with her when The Knights of Columbus, of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, selected her as their 2023 Mardi Gras Queen. Finally, she is also a very active member of the Leesville Lions Club and of the Leesville Municipal Golf Course Committee. She looks forward to many more years of service to Vernon Parish.

Trey Dowden

Trey is the Escrow Officer and Closing Coordinator with ReThink Title Company in Leesville where he conducts Residential and Commercial Real Estate Closings.  He is an active member of the Leesville Lions Club and is currently serving that organization as President.  Trey earned his Louisiana Notary Public credentials in January of 2019. Most importantly, he is proud to call Vernon Parish HOME!

Mandy is the Sales Manager for KJAE Radio/Pene Broadcasting Co., Inc. Mandy is also a member of the Lions Club and loves volunteering at different events. Mandy is a graduate of Leesville High School. As a Chamber Board member, she hopes to contribute her thoughts and ideas to help the Chamber in any way she can.

Wes Bailey

Before opening his legal practice, he served at the Louisiana Supreme Court and the Louisiana Economic Development Department, helping in the efforts to spur economic growth in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

He has practiced law in Leesville for 16 years and is the Vernon Parish Bar Association President and 1st Vice President of the Leesville Lions Club.

Michael has been involved with the Chamber of Commerce for nearly 20 years, having served as a Board Member multiple times. Michael has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from Louisiana Tech University, and  worked in the timber industry prior to going to work at the Assessor’s Office in 2005.

Jessica Herring

Jessica is a Vernon Parish native, who is passionate about the growth and development of our parish. In 2018, she moved within the city limits of Leesville and felt compelled to become more involved in her community. She now serves as a board member for the Planning and Zoning Committee for the City of Leesville. She is also very involved as a member of the Mayor’s Women’s Commission, the Pilot’s Club and the local aircraft enthusiasts club, EAA 1356. In addition, she helps with administrative tasks at Fina Automotive and Towing, when asked by her significant other who is the owner of this business in Leesville.

Tina Rhodes

Financial Service Representative for Barksdale Federal Credit Union

Tina is a lifelong Vernon Parish resident that has worked in the finance industry for over 30 years. She also co-owns two local businesses with her husband. Throughout her past, she has actively volunteered many hours with non-profit organizations where she has held positions such as Treasurer, served on the Board of Directors, and has been the Chair for a number of projects and events.  Tina has been awarded with honors such as Kiwanis of Vernon’s “President Appreciation Award” for her outstanding and devoted service to the club. She has also traveled extensively throughout Louisiana attending countless festivals and pageants where she has had the honor to judge several pageants for the Miss Louisiana Organization.

Robert Haymon

In 2010, Robert opened the doors of Slagle Mall, a small business providing the community with gas, a restaurant/deli, groceries, hardware, feed, access to the local post office, the ability to rent U-Haul vehicles, UPS mail shipping options, and a place to fill propane tanks. Slagle Mall is the epitome of a “one-stop shop” in rural Vernon Parish. Robert was born in Vernon Parish and is a graduate of Simpson High School. He then obtained his degree in Business Management from McNeese State University allowing him to work for Edward Jones Investments and for State Farm as a Financial Sales Associate prior to opening Slagle Mall. He is a current member of the Leesville Lions Club and looks forward to serving in whatever capacity necessary to make Vernon Parish a great place to call home.

Theo Anderson

Theo is the owner of Hickory Smoke House in Leesville, DeRidder and Fort Polk.  Born in Lafayette, he makes his home in Rosepine.  He also operates a Catering business out of all locations. Assisting him is Dena, his wife of 34 years, and son Jeremy, a graduate of the University of Louisiana Lafayette.  Theo is a current member of the Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce, the Beauregard Chamber of Commerce, and the Louisiana Restaurant Association.  An avid sportsman, Theo sponsors Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, and is a life member of the NRA.  When he is off, he and his wife enjoy riding motorcycles, fishing, and hunting.  He hopes that by serving on the Board he can help the people of Vernon parish and Fort Polk.
